Hello, a bit about me:

I'm a health economist; I spend most of my time understanding and modeling how changes in policy, incentives, and financial factors can impact decision-making in health care, and particuarly how these factors can influence decisions around pharmaceutical products and medicines. Within health care, my primary area of focus is oncology, or cancer. I'm also a cancer survivor, and I founded Resilience Racing, the first cancer survivor sailing team.

I'm passionate about explaining the nuances and technicalities of the health care system in a way that is easy to understand, and pointing out the system's unexpected financial and economic factors. I research and write about health care economics in scientific articles and for the popular press, and I speak at conferences about many issues in health and pharmaceutical economics and finance, as well as about my personal experience with cancer and the positive impact of outdoor sports and achieving flow states on the cancer survivor experience.
